In cooperation with the oil mill, Joseph Popp Ltd. in Bischofszell, mainly native oil seeds (rape oil/sunflower oil) are carefully pressed. Fat extraction (the leaching of the oils by solvents) is not used. The oil seeds are transported to crushers and mills by conveyor belts, where they are crushed and pressed. By doing this, the cell walls are torn so that the oil by the pressing can come out. As a result, one receives high quality raw oil for refinement after the first filtration.
